Senator John Cornyn Will Visit Texas Tech Saturday

Senator John Cornyn was a guest on KFYO’s morning program to talk about an upcoming visit to Texas Tech.

On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Senator John Cornyn said he will be meeting Saturday with Texas Tech students and faculty at the business school about efforts to train entrepreneurs.   Although the Texas economy is considered to be better than a number of other states, Cornyn said we’re in a precarious time economically.

“I think that’s why it’s so important that we pass a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which is something we will be voting on in the U.S. Senate and House in late November or early December,” Cornyn said.  “We’ve got to deal with that because that’s crowding out private investors and capital formation.  And it’s creating a lot of uncertainty and a loss of confidence."

Cornyn said that’s  dragging down the economy and job growth.
