Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Hasty interviewed U.S. Senator John Cornyn about current events in Washington and the turmoil in the U.S. Congress over several different issues.

Cornyn and Hasty discussed the increasingly heated situation surrounding the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, the lack of GOP support and resulting extreme dissatisfaction of the Republican base over the matter upon which most of the Republican party campaigned on over the past many years.

When asked by Hasty about his opinion that repeal and replacement of Obamacare will actually happen, Cornyn replied, "I'm quite optimistic, Chad."

Cornyn continued, saying:

Now we have to coalesce behind a single approach in order to keep the promises that we've been making in past elections, at least the last three elections, to repeal and replace Obamacare. So tonight, and maybe in the hours of early Friday morning we will do that here in the Senate, and then we will work with our House to finish the job in the coming weeks.

Cornyn and Hasty also discussed the ongoing turmoil in the White House including the reports of conflict between President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, as well as the sudden onset of controversy surrounding transgenders in the military.
