Senator John Cornyn: Obama Broke The Law Regarding Medicare
Senator John Cornyn and other Republican senators have sent a letter to President Obama that states that the administration is violating federal law regarding Medicare. The letter asks the president to comply with the law by immediately submitting to congress the administration’s legislative proposal for addressing a Medicare funding warning issued in the 2010 Medicare Trustees’ report.
The letter to the president states, “In 2008, President Bush submitted a legislative proposal to Congress which was never acted upon. Your administration, however, has failed to submit such a proposal for the last three years.”
Cornyn says that in addition to defying the law, Obama is also abdicating his responsibility to lead.
