Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, U.S. Senator John Cornyn joined the show to discuss the latest major news from Washington, Including yesterday's U.S. missile strikes in Syria.

Cornyn talked about progress in the confirmation process of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court and the use of the "nuclear option" by the Senate leadership, as well as yesterday's missile strikes on a Syrian airbase, which were ordered by President Trump.

When asked by Hasty if he believes President Trump needs to consult with Congress prior to further escalation in Syria, Cornyn responded,

I think he does. Under the War Powers Act, he needs to send a notice to Congress here pretty quickly notifying us of the legal authority under which he has acted unilaterally. And I think he can make that case. But going further it's going to require, literally, consensus building between the administration and the Congress, which is not easy by any means.
