Charles Perry Says Open Carry Demonstration Hurts the Cause

With the start of the new legislative session, Texas District 28 Senator Charles Perry joined The Chad Hasty Show on Thursday to check in on several issues.

Senator Perry talked about Tuesday's demonstrations outside the state capitol building by open carry supporters. Perry said that the demonstrators taking an aggressive attitude does the movement no good.

My understanding is that they got a little bit aggressive and over the top. You know there's ways to get things done... These guys, particularly what I was told specific from that house rep, they were very aggressive, very pushy, almost an intimidation factor involved. Number one, it's not the way to get public policy changed. Number two, they probably did more harm than good to their cause.
