Senate Candidate Tom Leppert Says High Gas Prices Are the Result of Regulations
According to KFYO’s most recent gas price survey, the average price of gas in Lubbock was $3.71 per gallon. On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, U.S. Senate candidate Tom Leppert blamed regulations for the high prices.
“I don’t think we have an energy
problem,” Leppert said. “I think we have a regulatory problem. You look across this country. We use about 3% of the energy resources. About 91% to one degree or another is off the table because of regulation.”
Leppert is seeking the Republican nomination for the senate seat being currently held by Kay Bailey Hutchison, who is not running for re-election
