Coronado High School and Texas Tech alumnus, Scott Pelley, has been fired from his anchor position at the CBS Evening News after an argument with CBS News division president David Rhodes.

The New York Daily News’ “Page Six” reports that Pelley’s office was cleared out Tuesday (May 31), of his own accord, while he is on assignment in Syria for “60 Minutes”. Pelley will move to the “60 Minutes” news magazine for CBS.

Variety reports that CBS News reporter Anthony Mason will become the interim anchor for the CBS Evening News.
