Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Scot Mayfield joined the show to discuss issues in his campaign for election to Lubbock Independent School District Board of Trustees, District 5.

Mayfield and Hasty talked about several issues, and at the top of the conversation was taxes.

While speaking about what concerns he is hearing from citizens while on the campaign trail, Scot explained what older citizens, who no longer have children in Lubbock schools, are concerned about. Mayfield said,

Their number one concern is obviously, number one, they want to do the best for kids. But their bigger concern is typically for taxes and spending. And are we spending our money wisely, and 'why do my taxes keep going up, and why do they always want more, more, more, more, more?' And that's one of the things I'm committed to is not raising our tax rates.

More information about Scot Mayfield is available on his campaign Facebook page.
