Friday on KFYO Mornings James Nesmith and Dr. Summer Ketron joined Dave King and Matt Martin to talk about several upcoming events at the Lubbock Science Spectrum including the Children's Dental Health Fair, the Chinese New Year event, the Dream Big Engineering Fair, and the Science Spectrum's new movie Dream Big: Engineering Our World.

On Saturday February 3rd from 10am-1pm the Science Spectrum will be holding a free event where children under the age of 12 can get screenings from dentists to see if they might need treatment or suffer from tooth decay. Kids will learn how to brush and floss better and can visit the dentist's booths where they can find raffles, games, giveaways and more. Admission at the Science Spectrum is free for all children during the time of this event.

Starting today the Science Spectrum will begin showing the movie Dream Big: Engineering Our World, where you can travel the world on the large Omnitheater screen and see amazing underwater crafts, robots, and giant buildings. The movie is said to be a motivational film that will get kids excited about careers in math, science, and engineering. The Science Spectrum will also be holding a completely free Dream Big Engineering Fair February 10th from 10am-3pm that will have lots of hands on activities for kids.

Finally on Saturday, February 17th the Science Spectrum will be holding a Chinese New Year event to celebrate the year of the dog.
