The National Weather Service's Lubbock office has set the dates for this year's regional SKYWARN Training.

SKYWARN is a volunteer program with over 250,000 trained severe weather spotters nationwide. In the South Plains, and Texas Panhandle, SKYWARN spotters provide information for all types of weather hazards, but mainly work to help identify severe thunderstorms.

A few notes about this year's schedule.  The time for the Lubbock meeting on March 8 may be changed and all of the meetings listed are open to the public.

For more information, call the NWS Lubbock office at 806-745-4260.
