This school year at Texas Tech will close out on a high note.

The Presidential Lecture and Performance Series at Tech will conclude with a visit from the renowned Santa Fe Opera during their spring tour.

The group will perform their program “Avastar,” an original one-act production sung in English, and incorporates works from opera, Broadway, and popular music as well.

The “Avastar” program includes music from G.F. Handel, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Giacomo Puccini, Van Morrison, and more.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29th in the Hemmle Recital Hall at the Texas Tech School of Music building. Admission is free and no ticket is required, but seating is limited in the hall.

The Santa Fe Opera Spring Tour group is composed of opera apprentice singers, and the program has helped many young singers establish their careers since their debut season in 1957.
