Spring definitely looks like it's upon us in Lubbock and around the South Plains. But West Texas is notorious for early spring freezes, and this year may be no exception.

I spoke with KAMC 28 Chief Meteorologist Ron Roberts recently, and he advised waiting to plant flowers and plants outside until after Mother's Day. According to Roberts, a light freeze is likely in April.

If you're like me, you are chomping at the bit to start your outside planting. I so want to get flowers out, but I know better.

Spring Break is a tempting time to want to start refurbishing your outside, especially with the warmer temperatures and sunshine this week. But resist the urge to get those beautiful flowers planted outside just yet or you'll likely be wasting your money.
