This morning on Glenn Beck's radio show, former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum (pictured) endorsed Ted Cruz in his campaign for U.S. Senate.

“Ted Cruz is just a tremendous orator and very strongly principled. He understands these [conservative] issues at his core and can really deliver the message,” Santorum said on Beck's show. “We need people who can really motivate and lead… Ted really has that capability.”

After the endorsement Ted Cruz released a statement: “I’m grateful to count Senator Santorum among conservatives across the country united around our campaign, including Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity and the Tea Party Express. This race is ground zero in the battle between true conservatives and the establishment. It’s incredibly encouraging to see such incredible momentum five days before the election.”

Ted Cruz is running for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Other candidates running for Senate include Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, Tom Leppert and Craig James.

Early voting for the May 29th Texas Primaries wraps up tomorrow.
