Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, District 83 Representative Dustin Burrows joined Chad in the KFYO studio to talk about the upcoming Texas House County Affairs Committee hearing which will take place at Texas Tech University's Law School on Friday, June 10, 2016.

During the interview, Burrows detailed the dire, and often tragic situations of children who are in need of professional guidance and assistance because of the lack of skilled Child Protective Services workers in the state. Qualified assistance is badly needed to help train the children in basic life skills such as driving, job hunting, etc.

Burrows and Hasty also discussed school finance reform, LGBTQ issues, health care costs, and other subjects.

On the escalating situation involving health care costs, Burrows said, "Texas needs to be the example, as a big state, on what markets can do to drive down costs." Burrows then said,

If we don't do that [gain control of health care costs], as a country, I mean there's going to be such an outcry from people that can't afford health insurance, that there will be a move to basically socialize or have a single payer system.

The County Affairs Committee hearing begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Texas Tech and promises to be an extensive meeting covering many issues in depth. The public is encouraged to attend, and engage in the meeting.
