“I’m not surprised.”

That was the response from Rep. Randy Neugebauer on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO when asked for his reaction to the Super Committee’s failure to reach an agreement  on deficit reduction.  Then he was asked if he would try to block the automatic spending cuts that are supposed to occur as a result of the committee’s failure.

“I can’t go along with blocking the cuts until we come up with an alternative,” Neugebauer said.   We’re to the p

oint now where we have got to start making some cuts here.”

The automatic cuts are supposed to include cuts in both domestic and defense spending.
