Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show Representative Jodey Arrington joined the program to talk about several hot topics in the news.

Arrington and Hasty discussed the progress being made in the legislature including on the national budget and debt, illegal immigration and DACA, addressed rumors of a possible additional tax on gasoline, and the frenzy of calls for more gun control in the wake of yesterday's murders in a Parkland, Florida school

About the Parkland school shooting, and the immediate calls from the left demanding more gun control as a solution, Arrington said, "It's not the gun that's killing people, any more than the car or the machete [wielded by] the terrorist on the streets of London. It's the evil intent."

Hasty asked Arrington if he would support more school teachers being allowed to carry firearms in classrooms to respond to these types of crimes. Arrington replied,

My gut reaction is yes. Again, law abiding citizens trained to use that firearm, the more you have, the more deterrent and the quicker the intervention...Yes, I would absolutely support it.

Note: The interview recording stops abruptly at the end due to the uncontrollable "hard" news and commercial break encountered at the top of the hour.
