With the upcoming school year approaching rapidly, the time for parents to sign their kids up for after school programs has arrived.

The City of Lubbock’s Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registrations for its three after school programs, which all begin on Monday, August 27th.

Programs are held at Rawlings Community Center, Simmons Community Center, and Trejo Supercenter.

Students will receive a hot meal each afternoon, and activities will include homework assistance, computer classes, games, and arts and crafts.

Students ages 6-12 years old eligible to participate.

The Simmons and Trejo centers are partnering with Lubbock ISD to provide transportation to their centers. LISD will provide transportation to the Trejo Supercenter for students attending McWhorters and Wolffarth Elementaries, and will provide transportation to Simmons Community Center from Iles, Wheatley, Parkway, and Bozeman Elementaries.

The programs cost $10 per week, and run Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
