Memorial Day weekend is almost here and while we remember those who gave it all to protect this nation, we also get together with friends and loved ones to kick-off the unofficial start to Summer.

Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets stopped by today to give some tips on red, white, and blue foods you can use to celebrate over the weekend. Duby suggested taking a fruit salad to your get together and mix in some different red, white, and blue foods. For red foods, you have a lot of options. Cherries, strawberries, and watermelon are all great choices. Right now at United Supermarkets, watermelons are just $5 dollars. Blueberries are buy one get one free at United and are perfect for that blue choice. When it comes to white, Duby suggested picking up some white peaches. White peaches are sweet and less acidic than yellow peaches.
