A Texas Tech basketball staff member will return for an 11th season with the Red Raiders.

Brooks “Bubba” Jennings served in various capacities under former coaches Bob Knight and Pat Knight, and is a previous standout player under Gerald Myers.

Jennings was the recipient of the 1984-1985 Francis Pomeroy Naismith Award as the nation’s most outstanding collegiate basketball player under six-feet tall following his senior season. He was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks, and played professional basketball in Europe for the London Docklands Crystal Palace.

Jennings later coached Coronado High School to back-to-back district and bi-district championships.

"I am as happy as I can be to work for coach Gillispie. I really think he is going to do a good job," Jennings said.
