A total of 56 Texas Tech University students will be receiving Terry Scholarships for the upcoming school year. The 24 transfer students receiving the scholarships are the first transfer student scholarships awarded from the foundation.  The other 32 scholarships are being awarded to incoming freshman.

“We congratulate the outstanding students who were awarded with distinguished Terry Foundation scholarships,” said Texas Tech President M. Duane Nellis. “One of the fastest-growing universities in the foundation’s history, Texas Tech represents the rich academic tradition of the foundation and offers these students the opportunity to receive their education here.”

According to Texas Tech, the Terry Foundation provides transfer students a scholarship for up to three years and incoming freshman with four-year scholarships for Texas residents attending certain universities in Texas. Terry Scholars are selected from a highly competitive applicant pool of incoming freshmen and transfer students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, character, financial need and scholastic ability.
