U.S. Representative Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) joined Tom Collins and Laura Mac on Lubbock's First News Monday for his weekly interview.

Congressman Neugebauer was asked about the Fort Hood Massacre Trial and the sentencing of convicted murderer Major Nidal Hassan. Neugebauer said,

I lean towards the Death Penalty, but at the same time do we make him a martyr? I just don't know what the right thing is. I think, probably in this case, I would yield more to the victims families and what they want to do.

Neugebauer also entered into the topic of Syria and the use military force after allegations of the use of Chemical Weapons on civilians.

"We don't need this to be unilaterally the United States all of a sudden deciding to jump into this fight," Neugebauer said. "Hopefully the President is trying to build some kind of consensus for whatever action is taken."
