On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lubbock Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) talked about his colleague, Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, named as Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential Candidate.

"This pick changes the course of this election. I think it will move [the election] from the politics to the policy. Quite honestly, that's what this election should be about," said Neugebauer.

"This is the most important election in maybe my lifetime. We are heading in a direction that's new for America. America is losing its dominance in a lot of ways because we are sinking in debt and what we owe the American people is a very open and honest discussion about where we are."

When asked about Ryan debating Vice President Joe Biden this fall Neugebauer said, "This is Biden's worst nightmare. He woke up Saturday morning with a headache. Paul Ryan is very articulate and he knows the issues.

When he is in the room, you better know what you are talking about. "

Neugebauer also spoke about the need for a new five-year Farm Bill and corn-ethanol subsidies.
