Texas' 19th Congressional Representative Randy Neugebauer visited the News/Talk 790 KFYO studios Monday and discussed several issues including the approval of a section of the U.S. Tax Code and  nominations to U.S. Service Academies.

Neugebauer talked about Section 179 of the tax code which gained approval and is awaiting the President's signature.

Section 179 allows small business owners the opportunity to take a full tax deduction on equipment purchased in 2014 upto $500,000 instead of having to amortize the equipment over the years.

Neugebauer said he believes this will lower the business owner's tax burden and allow them to reinvest the savings into their businesses.

Neugebauer also discussed  signing the nomination letters for students seeking to attend one of the five United States Military academies.

"We are dealing with the cream of the crop type students....It's a very good education and all of (the service academies) are great educational opporutinites for our young men and women."
