The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold a hearing next week in the Hub City.

The hearing by the FWS is in regard to the proposal of listing the Lesser Prairie Chicken as a “Threatened Species.”

The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is encouraging businesses in the area and industry stakeholders to attend the meeting.

It’s vitally important that the business community and economic stakeholders turnout for this hearing,” said Lubbock Chamber chairman Carlos Morales.

The Chamber’s concern is that a “threatened” listing under the Endangered Species Act would have a significant impact on the economy of West Texas.”

The hearing will be held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Monday, February 11th at 6:30pm.
