Project to Extend Slide Road to Highway 84 Begins Monday

A project to complete Slide Road northward will begin on Monday.

TxDOT will begin work on the project that will extend Slide Road from Marshall Street to Highway 84.

The $5.4 million project will add 1.4 miles of Slide Road to the City of Lubbock’s transportation system.

The project is funded by both federal and city governments.

Since the roadway will be new, traffic is expected to be unaffected by the project.

Construction is expected to be completed in October 2013.

The contractor is Duininck, Inc. from Roanoke, Texas.
