President Barack Obama will be stopping in eastern New Mexico this week to speak on the production of domestic oil and gas.

Although domestic production is at an all time high, many remain frustrated with environmental implementations pushed by the Obama administration. Actions such as the consideration of the dunes sagebrush lizard as an endangered species has jeopardized a significant portion of southern oil and gas production.

The president will be stepping into staunchly Republican territory as he speaks in New Mexico oil fields Wednesday, where many in the industry say more could be done to improve domestic oil and gas production.
