On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Mark Martin from Premier Charter Schools talked with Tom Collins and guest host Sondra Ziegler about Premier's upcoming school year.

Premier Charter School is an alternative school that caters to students that have trouble in a regular school environment. Martin explained that sometimes, students with disabilities or students in a bad situation have difficulty succeeding in the standard school model and that Premier offers a way to help these students get the education they desire with personalized curriculum and flexible class schedules.

Premier Charter School will be hosting open houses next week on August 20th and 21st, starting at 6 PM. The 2013-2014 school year starts on August 26th.
