Portion of Interstate 27 in North Lubbock to Close For Accident Investigation
A portion of Interstate 27 will be closed early this week to allow law enforcement to continue investigating a deadly accident that occurred last month.
TxDOT will close the north and southbound lanes of I-27 between Regis and Drew Streets beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22nd.
The closure will allow Texas DPS troopers to reconstruct the accident scene from March 26th of this year which resulted in the death of 47-year-old Vickie Jo Lozano of Plainview.
Lozano reportedly lost control of her SUV and rolled it. Lozano’s vehicle was the only one involved in the fatal wreck.
All I-27 traffic will be detoured onto the frontage roads.
The roadway is expected to reopen to traffic by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
