The Lubbock Police Department has released more details in the two-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday in North Lubbock involving a semi-truck.

Police say the crash occurred in the 2100 block of Clovis Road just before 4:30 p.m. A semi-truck was traveling east in the left lane of Clovis Highway and then tried to turn right into a parking lot.

That’s when a Nissan Altima driving east in the right lane struck the right side of the semi-truck as it turned. Three people were injured in the Nissan Altima; a 6-year-old in the backseat, a 23-year-old female driver, and a 4-year-old boy in the front seat who was not wearing a seatbelt.

The boy remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 50-year-old driver of the semi-truck was not injured. It's unclear who, if anyone, will be charged in the accident.
