Lubbock Police have arrested one man suspected of his involvement in shooting a gun out of a vehicle in the City and the police chase which ensued.

Police responded to a report of shots being fired at 24th Street and Frankford Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses reported people in a yellow Hummer driving up and down Frankford Avenue shooting a gun.

Officers found the vehicle and occupants in the 4300 block of West Loop 289, and pursued it to the north alley of 6100 39th Street.

The occupants exited the Hummer and fled the area on food.

One occupant, 19-year-old Jose Angel Chavez, was taken into custody.

A stolen firearm was located inside the vehicle, which had also been stolen.

Police are still searching for two suspects that managed to escape.

Chavez has been charged with burglary of a habitation, organized crime, theft of a firearm, evading by vehicle, evading by food, unlawful carry of a weapon, possession of marijuana, and three prior charges.
