A local Citibus sponsored by an area bank will pick up packages to send to U.S. troops serving overseas.

The PlainsCapital Bank’s “Good Guys” Citibus will pick up and deliver 275 care packages to be sent to U.S. troops in honor of Veterans Day.

The individual care packages include a note of thanks and encouragement from PlainsCapital Bank, chocolate, cookies, candy, dehydrated fruit, nuts, drink mixes, toiletries, and Christmas goodies.

“My son, Brett, served two tours in Iraq, and I can tell you from our family’s experience that there is no better way to show appreciation to our young men and women serving to protect our freedoms than by prayers and things as simple as a card, letter, or care package that lets them know we are thinking about them back home,” said PlainsCapital Bank Lubbock President Les Eubank.

The care packages will be loaded onto the bus on Friday at the bank branch at 5010 University Avenue at 10 a.m. and delivered to a post office.
