Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, Chad was joined by Pat Kelly, who is a candidate for Lubbock City Council District 1.

Kelly and Hasty discussed his campaign and why Kelly is seeking the council seat, downtown Lubbock issues including Citizen's Tower, future annexations by the city, as well as the controversial topic of the fate of the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum.

While talking about his views on annexations, Kelly said,

I don't have an issue with voluntary annexation. I have a tremendous issue about the annexations that will be in my district when I'm elected, which is out near the airport. People spent their life savings, hard earned money to move outside the city where they want to, and have animals and everything, and they didn't want to be annexed.
