Outbreaks of Gunfire Leave 6 People Injured Overnight
Separate outbreaks of gunfire in the Depot District and at a Lubbock residence left a half-dozen people injured during the night and early morning hours.
Lubbock Police were called to the 1700 block of Texas Avenue just before 1:00 a.m. when shots were fired in an alley after a disturbance at the Club Melt. Five people were taken to a hospital, none believed suffering life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said a group of young blacks were seen running to 1980s model Chevrolet Caprice. Earlier, around 10 p.m. last night, police received a call about an attempted home invasion and shots being firedin the 3700 block of 41st Street.
An ambulance rushed to the scene to take one person to the hospital. Police were searching the area for evidence.
