Opinion: More Steps Taking the U.S. Military Away from the World’s Greatest Fighting Force

Anyone that still believes the military is some organization above the whims of politics has new evidence to assuage them of that delusion.

With the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, which protected homosexual service members from their commands, for sake of petty politics, the military has only gotten more ridiculous.

The Navy has begun a transition to biofuels, that will cost the American taxpayer an order of magnitude in costs in a time when the economy is down, and the military is claiming budgets shortages.

Anyone that follows the Navy’s Facebook, like I do, will find a disgustingly large number of political PR cover for the administration’s policies and the whims of the democrat house and senate at any given time.

Now the army is sacrificing the stopping power of lead bullets to switch to “green” ammunition. That’s right, Army officials admit that the new “environmentally friendly” ammunition would not have the effectiveness of lead at less than 150 yards.

So, at close range, where it matters most, we will give our soldiers inferior ammunition for the sake of liberal special interest.

There is no honor left in the military brass. The armed forces have become just another bureaucracy.
