Opinion: Here’s Hoping for Ted Cruz

Our state’s newest Senator is certainly making waves in Washington.

Senator Cruz has stood his ground against leadership and even the waning of the convictions of other thought-to-be conservatives like Marco Rubio.

With all the attention that he is garnering for standing for conservatism I worry though.

It seems that every champion on the right that is cheered is going the route of Chris Christie straight to being a RINO (Republican in Name Only).

I love the fact that we are represented by one of the strongest leaders in our country, but I worry that, like Rubio, the attention and pressure will be too much and he will abandon conviction for political expediency.

Senator Cruz’s current stand against Amnesty is exactly what I wish all our Republican leaders would have the strength to do.

But while we need to continue giving our senator all the support we can in his stands, keep an eye open just in case.
