A woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in South Lubbock. The accident occurred around 1:15 at 96th Street and University Avenue.

30 year-old Susan Trevino was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer southbound on University Avenue and she attempted to make a left turn on to 95th Street. Trevino's Explorer collided with a Chevy truck that was traveling northbound on University.  The Chevy was towing an empty cattle trailer.

Lubbock Police determined that Trevino failed to yield the right-of-way and she was killed at the scene in the collision.  No one in the Chevy was injured.

Various lanes of University Avenue at the accident site were blocked off for about two and-a-half hours as police completed their accident investigation.
