One Dead in Rollover in Southeast Lubbock County

One woman is dead and two people injured following a wreck just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

A black Mercury sport utility vehicle rolled on U.S. 84, just east of Farm-to-Market 1585 near Posey.

The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was thrown from the vehicle into a cotton field.

The other two in the vehicle were injured, and one had to be cut from the SUV. Their injuries range from minor to moderate, according to a Department of Public Safety Spokesman. They were taken to Lubbock hospitals.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and the lack of use of seat belts and speed are believed to be factors.
