One Dead Following Wreck Involving Filled Concrete Truck

A wreck in Clovis leaves one person dead.

Clovis police responded to the intersection of 7^th and Norris Streets to find a multiple vehicle crash involving a 2000 Mack concrete mixer truck and a 2011 Toyota passenger car.

The filled concrete truck was rolled over on the driver’s side, on top of the back seat area of the Toyota.

29-year-old Crystal Sutherland of Clovis, the back seat passenger, was pronounced dead after being crushed under the weight of the loaded concrete truck.

The driver and front seat passenger of the car were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injury treatment, as was the driver of the concrete truck.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and say there is no indication of alcohol or drug intoxication at this time on the part of either driver.
