Rodney Stewart Robertson was charged with first degree felony arson of a habitation.

CBS 7 reports that the house was burned down on Tuesday afternoon. They were able to track down Robertson by a dog found at the property whose collar had his phone number on it.

Odessa Police called the number and Robertson answered. According to the report, he admitting setting the fire because his ex-girlfriend took him off the lease to the home.

The report also says he admitted to police to burning down the house. He apparently told them: "Yes, I burned the house down. I bet I burned it down good. Tell me is it burned to the ground?"

He also told police he was on his way to New Mexico and they would never find him.

Ector County Jail Records show Robertson was also charged with escape while arrested, harassment, and parole violation.
