United Supermarkets and Mrs. Baird’s Bread have announced the October “Teachers on the Rise” winners.

The three October recipients are Latasha Dickerson of Rise Academy, Charlotte Watson of Evans Middle School in Lubbock ISD, and Charles Tabor of Olton High School.

According to United Supermarkets, since the Teachers on the Rise program launched in early September, nominations have poured in from students across the South Plains explaining why their teachers deserve this recognition.

To nominate a teacher, students can log onto www.MrsBTeacher.com to fill out a brief entry on why their teacher deserves special recognition.

Winning teachers receive a $100 United Supermarkets gift card and a $100 VISA gift card. The student that makes the winning nomination also receives a $50 VISA gift card.

Each month of this school year will have new winners. One elementary, middle school, and high school teacher will receive the award each month.

Teachers on the Rise is sponsored by the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, News Talk 790 KFYO, 102.5 KISS-FM, and KAMC-TV.
