President Barack Obama’s former vehicle is now on sale for a seven-figure price.

Obama’s 2005 Chrysler 300C is valued by Kelley Blue Book at just under $17,000 in the Chicago area by a private seller, but seller “cubfanatic23” set the EBay starting bid at $1 million, due to the car’s famous former lessee.

The seller, who lists a scan of the title backing up his claim of the car’s history, says that Obama put around 19,000 miles on the vehicle. Obama reportedly traded the Chrysler with a 5.7L Hemi engine for a Ford Escape Hybrid in 2007 after receiving negative press for the 300C’s fuel consumption during his Presidential campaign.

According to Top Gear UK, the Chrysler has been put up on EBay before, but did not reach the seller’s asking price.

Obama is now chauffeured around in a Cadillac limousine dubbed “The Beast,” based on the large GMC Topkick truck platform. The weighty armored Presidential limousine is estimated to get around 8 miles per gallon, a far cry from the Chrysler’s estimated 15 mpg in the city.

Granted, the 300C would likely be able to make it up a ramp in Ireland, unlike Cadillac One last May.

The million-dollar auction is scheduled to end on February 1st. The original article from Top Gear UK is available here.
