Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. Obama not looking so good (link)

If the election were held today, President Obama would be sweating. According to Gallup, four GOP hopefuls are giving the President a good run for his money. Mitt Romney edges out Obama among registered voters. Rick Perry and Obama are tied. Michele Bachmann is down by four points, and Ron Paul trails Obama by only 2.

Not bad.

2. Ryan says no (link)

Paul Ryan has again decided he isn't running for President. Paul Ryan released this to the Weekly Standard;

"I sincerely appreciate the support from those eager to chart a brighter future for the next generation. While humbled by the encouragement, I have not changed my mind, and therefore I am not seeking our party's nomination for President. I remain hopeful that our party will nominate a candidate committed to a pro-growth agenda of reform that restores the promise and prosperity of our exceptional nation. I remain grateful to those I serve in Southern Wisconsin for the unique opportunity to advance this effort in Congress."

I like Paul Ryan, but I'm glad he isn't running. We need people like him in Congress.

3. FCC kills off Fairness Doctrine (link)

The FCC has officially killed off the fairness doctrine. That sound you hear is the relief of many program directors around the United States. According to Politico;

Monday’s move is part of the commission’s response to a White House executive order directing a “government-wide review of regulations already on the books” designed to eliminate unnecessary regulations.

Good for the FCC.
