No One Injured in Rise Academy Shooting

A shooting at Rise Academy Thursday afternoon has left no one injured. 6 to 8 shots were fired towards the school on Martin Luther King Boulevard late this afternoon. Rick Baumgartner, director and founder of the school, tells KFYO that the shots were directed at a parent in retaliation to a workplace dispute. He says the perpetrators have not been caught; however police have a description of the shooter.
In May, Baumgartner thwarted another attack on school grounds, that time a man with a knife. He was able to save a female teacher who had been taken hostage by the man.
If you have any information on the shootings contact the Lubbock Police Department at 775-2865.
