A 24-year old man pleads guilty for producing child pornography.

Njeazeh Ambeabet pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings today in Lubbock.

Ambeabet faces a sentence of no less than 15 years and no more than 30 in a federal prison with a fine up to $250,000, and up to a lifetime of supervised release. Ambeabet has been in custody since his arrest in February 2013.

Court documents filed in the case state that Ambeabet met an 11-year old girl online and engaged in a texting relationship with her and asking her to engage in sexual relations with him.

He admitted that he knew her age and that he received sexual images from her that were taken with a cell phone at his request.

The was case brought by Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide program to combat child sexual exploitation.
