New Mexico State Police are investigating a child’s death in an accident near Hobbs Sunday afternoon (Dec. 24).

KAMC News reports, police were called for a fatal crash on Billy Walker Road in Lea County. Police say, 56 year-old Enrique Lozoya was driving a pickup truck at a slow speed while hunting with his children, when 10 year-old Rhianna Wormly attempted to climb on the hood of the truck. Wormly was ran over by the truck and suffered serious injuries.

Wormly was taken to a Lea County Regional hospital where she later died.

New Mexico State Police are still investigating the death.
