Neugebauer: Quality of Service in Part-time Congress Might Not Be the Same

Texas Governor  and presidential candidate Rick Perry has suggested that the U.S. Congress should be a part-time congress, similar to the part-time Texas Legislature.  On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Rep. Randy Neugebauer had this reaction:

“I wouldn’t be opposed to tightening or reducing the period of time that we’re in D.C.,” Neugebauer said.

But Neugebauer suggested that the quality of service might not be the same.

“We work from sun-up to sun

down, so I think it would be difficult to do all the things that that I think people expect of a United States congressman and do it on a part-time basis.”
