National Weather Service Meteorologist Jody James Says Long Range Forecast Suggests We Will Have Drier Than Normal Weather in the Coming Months
Last year was the driest on record in Lubbock. In an interview for KFYO’s public service program, This Week in Lubbock, Jody James, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, was asked what we can expect in the next few months.
“It’s difficult to say. Of course we’re coming out of a big drought. Our long-range forecast shows us to be a little warmer and a little drier than normal, or at least the odds favor that.”
But he remains optimistic.
“We’ve had a lot of rain downstate. It’s going to be real difficult to have another year as dry as last year."
