Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show District 19 Representative Jodey Arrington joined the show to discuss the hottest topics current in Washington.

Arrington and Hasty talked at length about the controversial omnibus spending bill, and Arrington's reasoning in voting for the bill despite much controversy over it's funding for Planned Parenthood.

While explaining his decision to vote for the bill, Arrington said,

It wasn't an easy vote for sure. There were bad things, or negative aspects to this vote, no question, and I'm not trying to defend the bad aspects of it. I'm just suggesting to, and explaining to my constituents that there was no other viable means to fund the military, to rebuild the military after years of cuts. Two hundred billion dollars, twenty percent reduction, we are not ready, we are not ready. We're seeing planes drop out of the sky. We are having soldiers die by four times the rate in training related exercises than on the battlefield. And you've got a Republican president, commander in chief, Republican secretary of defense basically begging Congress to just get off the dime and get them the funding so we can deal with China and Russia, and certainly the most imminent [threats], North Korea, Iran, the list is long.

Also discussed were the farm bill, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and welfare in general, the status of the new B-21 Raider heavy bomber, and more.
