Midnight Matador Sidelined for the Texas Tech- West Virginia Game

Texas Tech Athletics this afternoon issued a surprising injury report of the equine variety for tomorrow's Texas Tech- West Virginia football game.

Midnight Matador (pictured) will be restricted from 'game action' against West Virginia for precautionary reasons after undergoing medical testing earlier this week. Midnight Matador, and Ashley Wenzel, the Masked Rider, will still participate in Saturday's Homecoming parade, pre-game autograph session at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion and will patrol the sidelines during the game.

Midnight Matador is the longest serving mascot for Texas Tech and has been in action since 2002.
