Texas Tech’s School of Nursing has welcomed a new dean.
Michael L. Evans was well-received by TTUHSC officials today, as he begins his tenure as the new School of Nursing dean. Evans will also serve as the UMC Health System’s Endowed Chair for Excellence in Nursing.
Evans last served as a professor, dean, and CEO of the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College in St Louis since 2006. He is a Texas Tech alumnus.
“Dr. Evans has a proven track record of leadership both in higher education and in the private sector, and the people of Texas are sure to benefit from his efforts here,” said Dr. Tedd L. Mitchell, TTUHSC president.
Evans said “Everybody knows us – we have a great reputation. We can build on that nucleus by continuing to improve our programs and recruiting top-notch faculty.”
